Since 2002 Perimeter Institute has been recording seminars, conference talks, public outreach events such as talks from top scientists using video cameras installed in our lecture theatres.  Perimeter now has 7 formal presentation spaces for its many scientific conferences, seminars, workshops and educational outreach activities, all with advanced audio-visual technical capabilities. 

Recordings of events in these areas are all available and On-Demand from this Video Library and on Perimeter Institute Recorded Seminar Archive (PIRSA)PIRSA is a permanent, free, searchable, and citable archive of recorded seminars from relevant bodies in physics. In this talk we discuss how large classes of classical spin models, such as the Ising and Potts models on arbitrary lattices, can be mapped to the graph state formalism. In particular, we show how the partition function of a spin model can be written as the overlap between a graph state and a complete product state. Here the graph state encodes the interaction pattern of the spin model---i.e., the lattice on which the model is defined---whereas the product state depends only on the couplings of the model, i.e., the interaction strengths.

I will discuss an alternative approach to simulating Hamiltonian flows with a quantum computer. A Hamiltonian system is a continuous time dynamical system represented as a flow of points in phase space. An
alternative dynamical system, first introduced by Poincare, is defined
