Postdoc position in Quantum Information


A 2-year postdoctoral position in Quantum Information Science is opening in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia in September 2008, in the group of Dr. Robert Raussendorf.

Possible areas of research include - but are not confined to - topological quantum computation, quantum algorithms, quantum error-correction, measurement-based quantum computation and quantum cellular automata. Applicants must hold a PhD, or be about to obtain one, and have a solid backgroud in Quantum Information. In addition, knowledge in one/some of the following fields can be helpful: Quantum Optics, Statistical Mechanics, Graph Theory, Topological Quantum Field Theories, Discrete Gauge Theories.
