Founded in 1981 by Harry Zarek and headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Compugen is one of Canada’s largest Information Technology solution providers. The company works with mid- to large-sized organizations to provide strategic IT planning, infrastructure products and services and solution management to governments and corporations. With 14 offices across the country and a staff of over 1,000, the company is a national organization providing services coast to coast across Canada. The company recently opened a US office in Houston to service the Oil and Gas and Healthcare sectors.

In 2014, the company attained revenue in excess of $400M.

As Founder, President and CEO, Mr. Zarek’s responsibilities at Compugen focus on business development as well as long-term business strategies to position the company as a trusted business partner to its customers and vendors.

Mr. Zarek holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering Science and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Toronto. He is an active investor and member of the Board of Directors of a number of early stage technology companies both in Canada and the U.S. He is an advisor to McRock Capital, a leading Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) venture capital fund focused on the intersection of sensors & software in large industrial markets.

In addition, he also serves on the Board of Directors at the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA), an industry-led not-for-profit organization chartered with improving the efficiency of regulated end-of-life electronics (EOLE) reclamation and recycling processes, which currently operates in eight provinces across Canada.
