2016-2017 CLASSICAL WORLD ARTISTS SEASON

Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà
String Orchestra and Piano

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2016 AT 8:00 PM

Canada’s premiere piano and string orchestra, Angèle Dubeau & La Pietà is composed of all top-ranking female musicians, amongst the best in the country.

Their individual excellence, precision, and strength, combined with the closeness that they have with each other, grants them an exceptional ensemble sound and contributes to the communicative pleasure that the orchestra imparts.  Perimeter is proud to have this phenomenal ensemble grace its stage.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:30 pm

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) is one of eleven constituents of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts complex in the world.  The society presents chamber music of every instrumentation, style, and historical period in its extensive concert season in New York and its national and international tours.

For Perimeter, David Finkel (co-director of CMS and a good friend of the Institute) has recommended the “Fauré and Brahms” programme. The remarkable young pianist, Alessio Bax, praised by Gramophone for the “hypnotic intensity” of his playing, is joined in this not-to-be missed program by esteemed violinist Ani Kafavian, the brilliant Yura Lee on viola, and the incomparable artistry of Paul Watkins on cello.  We are so excited to welcome this talented group to Perimeter.

Christian Tetzlaff, violin
and Lars Vogt, piano

Monday, February 13, 2017 at 7:30 pm 8:00 pm (changed due to artist delay in travel)

Acclaimed world violinist Christian Tetzlaff is back by popular demand! His solo performance several years ago completely entranced our audience and left us wanting more. Knowing how busy his schedule is, Perimeter jumped at the opportunity to book him again, this time with his long-time collaborator pianist, Lars Vogt.

An artist known for his musical integrity, technical assurance, and intelligent, compelling interpretations, Tetzlaff is internationally recognized as one of the most important violinists of his generation.

This concert will be a night to remember. Join us.

Jon Kimura Parker, piano
(replacing David Fray)

Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:30 pm

Pianist David Fray who was previously schedued to perform the last Classical World Artisit concert has had to cancel due to unavoidable personal reasons.

We are very pleased and fortunate to announce that pianist Jon Kimura Parker will be appearing.  The soon to be Dr. Parker has long been a friend of Perimeter and when he heard of our need to fill a date, offered his help enthusiastically.  He has graced our stage in the past years with chamber ensembles but never in a solo piano recital. We are incredibly delighted to have "Jackie" on our stage again to close out Perimeter's 2016/2017 concert season
