Perimeter Institute brings great thinkers from around the world to Canada to share their ideas on a wide variety cutting-edge subjects. Each event is tailored for the general public and everyone is welcome to attend. No mathematical or physics knowledge is necessary or assumed, but curiosity is required.

The Perimeter Public Lecture Series was created for the purpose of sharing the power and wonder of science with the world. In the live webcast, A Physicist's Adventures in Virology,” physicist Catherine Beauchemin will highlight some of the issues that have eroded trust in health research, presenting examples from influenza and COVID-19. She will show why she believes many of these issues have their root in the fact that hypotheses in health research are formulated as words rather than mathematical expressions – and why a dose of physics may be just the prescription we need.
