Perimeter Institute Supports Governor General’s Innovation Awards

Perimeter Institute has been invited by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston to serve as a “Nominating Partner” for the Governor General’s Innovation Awards.

The Governor General’s Innovation Awards, a new program of national recognition announced in June, will celebrate outstanding Canadian individuals, teams, and organizations whose innovations have shaped our society. The program aims to also inspire the next generation of brilliant, entrepreneurial thinkers.
Perimeter Institute has been selected as a Nominating Partner in this new initiative. As such, the Institute will nominate individuals and/or groups that meet the program’s criteria. A full list of founding partners and nominating partners is available on the official awards site.
Those who would like to suggest a nominee for Perimeter’s consideration are invited to send suggestions to Angela Robinson ( with the name(s) and any background information that may be helpful, before Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Up to six award winners will be identified through a two-stage, merit-based selection process overseen by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, and the awards will be presented each spring, beginning in 2016.
Perimeter Institute will share more news of this celebration of Canadian innovators in the coming months.
