CLASSICAL WORLD ARTISTS 2013-2014

The Classical World Artists series is a staple of Perimeter's Event Horizons programming. In the past, we have brought such world-renowned musicians as Yo-Yo Ma, Gidon Kremer, the Hagen String Quartet, Joshua Bell, Evelyn Glennie, and Emanuel Ax to Waterloo. Our 2013-14 season will again welcome top, international-calibre artists, exploring classical music traditions from around the world. Whether you're a classical devotee or simply interested in exploring a rich musical experience, we invite you to join us for an intimate evening in the company of innovative, world-class artists.

The Black Hole Bistro is open for dinner before each concert at 5:30 pm. Reservations are required.

Celebrating its 21st Season, Apollo's Fire is one of America's most brilliant Baroque ensembles.  Music Director Jeannette Sorrell and concertmaster Olivier Brault, leads intimate and sculpted programs, featuring AF's "trademark qualities: expressive subtlety, exuberance and passion" - Classical Music Magazine, London.

The AF will be bringing Brandenburg Concertos No. 2 - No. 6 in their premiere performance at Perimeter Institute

Collard's recital career has spanned over three decades.  His celebrated career includes appearances as a soloist with the world's greatest orchestras and over thirty recording.  Praised by the Los Angeles Times for providing "exhilarating art," we're delighted to have M. Collard grace Perimeter's stage.

Since replacing Yo-Yo Ma (at the last minute) in a concert with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich under David Zinman at the age of 17, Mr. Poltéra has steadily established himself as one of the most prominent cellists of his generation.  Mr. Poltéra's most recent recording with the Bergen Philharmonic and Andrew Litton was named "CD of the Month" by Gramophone.
