Nous sommes heureux de procurer en français, sur ce site web, les informations concernant le fonctionnement general de l'institut Perimeter. Nous pouvons aussi procurer en français toutes informations additionelles sur demande.

Visiting Scientists

Perimeter Institute runs an active visitor program. We welcome open applications from scientists for periods of time ranging from several days to a year. The merits of each will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

To submit an online application, please follow this link. The application deadline is November 18, 2011.

All applications should include:

  • Nature of the desired visit
  • Area of interest (quantum information, quantum gravity, superstrings, cosmology, quantum foundations, particle physics, condensed matter and complex systems)
  • Supporting documents such as a CV and a statement of research interests
  • Clear explanation of the extent of any financial support required

If you require additional information or have questions, please contact LeeAnne Kane, Manager, Office of the COO & Scientific Programs.

Sabbatical Leave Program

Perimeter Institute encourages applications from scientists in theoretical physics who wish to spend time at Perimeter Institute while on sabbatical leave from their faculty positions at home institutes. These select Visiting Researcher positions span the period of June to September of the following year, in the areas of quantum information, quantum gravity, superstrings, cosmology, quantum foundations, particle physics, condensed matter and complex systems. Outstanding researchers in related fields are welcome to submit expressions of interest.

More information about the formal application procedure can be found here.

About Perimeter
Perimeter Institute offers a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment with maximum research freedom and opportunity to collaborate, take part in workshops and conferences as well as enjoy the productive atmosphere and amenities of the award winning facility.

Perimeter Institute is located west of Toronto, in Waterloo, Canada and opened in September 2001 as an independent institute supporting research in foundational areas of theoretical physics. The Institute offers an exceptional research environment, with a growing staff of over 80 resident researchers in addition to visiting Distinguished Research Chairs, over 20 graduate students and nearly 30 master's level students participating in Perimeter Scholars International. Additionally, PI generally hosts up to 700 visitors and conference participants throughout the academic year.

Perimeter Institute is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
