 | Kayhan Kalhor April 20, 2012 at 6:00 pm (Doors open at 5:00 pm)Our latest Terrabites features master classical Persian musician Kayhan Kalhor in an evening of music accompanied by Persian inspired cuisine in the intimate atmosphere of the second floor of the Black Hole Bistro. Kalhor is a renowned virtuoso of the kamancheh, a traditional Iranian bowed string instrument, and is a celebrated composer and exponent of a musical tradition thousands of years old. Residing in the USA, Kalhor tours internationally with both traditional programmes as well as cross-cultural explorations. He is also a member of Yo-Yo Ma's esteemed Silk Road Project. Percussionist Behrouz Jamali will accompany Kahor on his musical journey in the Black Hole Bistro.
This Terrabites event includes traditional Persian cuisine served family style. All tables will be in groupings of 10 or more, an intimate evening sharing with friends and strangers alike. Comprised of Denis Plante on the bandoneón, Argentina’s trademark instrument, David Jacques on guitar, and John Geggie on double bass, Tango Boréal will delight diners with a dynamic program including original works by Plante, one of the top composers on the international tango music scene, as well as works by Piazzolla, Pugliese, Gardel, and Aïeta.
