Perimeter Institute’s finance department is growing to support the needs of our evolving organization. We are currently seeking a highly organized, positive professional to join our talented team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Reporting to the Director of Finance the successful incumbent will perform the day to day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure the finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. Responsibilities - Receive, verify and code invoices, reimbursement requests and requisitions for goods and services
- Facilitate the purchase order process
- Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
- Data entry of invoices and reimbursement requests
- Facilitate the biweekly cheque run process
- Prepare monthly reports of researcher travel grants
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and project codes
- Maintain updated vendor files
- Other duties as required
Qualifications - Post-Secondary education in accounting or related program
- Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
- Proficiency with Simply Accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word
- Time management skills
- Professionalism when managing time sensitive and confidential information
- Flexible and positive team player
