Osamu Hirota, A True Quantum Communications Channel |
|
June 25 - 27, 2008 Perimeter Institute Osamu Hirota has been a key figure in bringing two generations of quantum information theorists together---communities that might not otherwise have been aware of each other. His tireless conference organization (including the international QCMC series), fundraising, building bridges between Japanese and western researchers, and the establishment of the QCMC awards for theorists and experimentalists in quantum information, have been significant components in making this community what it is. In honor of his 60th birthday, we hold a celebration here at PI, combining old friends and new results. Talks will range from the latest results in quantum channel capacity theory and cryptographic security, to quantum computing and even(!) quantum foundations.
