The new centre doubles the size of Perimeter Institute, making it the largest centre of its kind in the world, devoted to cutting-edge scientific research, training, and outreach activities in theoretical physics. Discover the power of theoretical physics by meeting international scientists and enjoying a self-guided tour of the brand new 55,000 square foot centre. Be part of special PI Public Lectures with leading thinkers. Interact with PI physicists at casual 'Science in the Pub' or 'Science in the Club' settings in Uptown Waterloo. Professor Hawking will take part in opening ceremonies by video, which can be viewed on TVO and TVO.org Sunday, September 18 at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The special broadcast, with host Ivan Semeniuk, will include discussion with Neil Turok, James S. Gates, Julie Payette, Rebecca Saxe and tributes from Rick Hansen, David Foster and William Shatner.
