Supporting the Director of Finance the Financial Analyst will be a highly motivated, positive, team player with a strong work ethic. Our ideal candidate has previous experience as a Financial Analyst, is solution oriented, enjoys problem solving, is skilled at multi-tasking and possesses excellent financial analysis skills. The ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment is a must.
Position responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the analysis of quarterly results, including the research of variances, identifying trends and anomalies, cost inefficiencies, as well as project reporting
- Supporting financial administration of grants, which will include maintaining the database, managing the collection of data for reporting purposes, data entry and submission to reporting agencies
- Providing assistance in the preparation and filing of HST returns, as well as the preparation of monthly working papers
- Assisting in departmental projects and participation in ad hoc projects as they arise
- General accounting duties as directed
Requirements and Education:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma at a University or College level in business, accounting or finance
- Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Professional Accountant
- Minimum two years related work experience, preferably in a comparable role
- Expert level computer skills essential, especially Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to translate financial and technical data into informative reports
- Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands
- Strong time management and planning skills
