The ideal candidate’s major duties and responsibilities will include:
- Management and control of Outreach program budgets and corresponding financial processes
- Collecting, maintaining and reporting program data and metrics
- Coordination and support of Perimeter Outreach programs including: Public Lecture Series, Perimeter Teacher Network, Physica Phantastica, Go Physics, ISSYP
- Participating in the decision making processes of each outreach program as they relate to the creation, development, and delivery of the initiative
- Propels the overall scheduling, delivery, and measurement of the outreach programs
- Identifying and author any grants, sponsorships and awards that will benefit outreach programs
- Establishes positive relationships and maintains expectations among program participants, contributors and others
- Informs all necessary Perimeter departments, outside partners and suppliers of events and requirements
- The Coordinator will also serve as a front-line Perimeter Outreach representative among a wide variety of parties for the productive handling of external inquiries and special guests
- Responsible for growing positive relationships among regional, national and international outreach partners
- Assists with the recruitment, orientation and training of occasional staff, volunteers and contributors as needed
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree required; teachers college, or business training is ideal
- Proven success working in a dynamic, fast-paced team setting
- Demonstrated achievements driving events for students, teachers, or the general public
- Understanding of research/academic institutions is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability in coordinating staff, scientists, teachers, volunteers, suppliers and others
- Demonstrated achievements in project management, coordinating timelines, budgets and reporting
- Flexible availability including some evenings and weekends, as needed during existing activities and future special events
